Mood

Face

The idea of disposition can refer to the countenance.

Mood is a term that can refer to the style or way of doing something . For example: "We cannot limit ourselves to listening only to sectoral complaints: we have to provide solutions to society as a whole" , "The client submitted an aggressive note since he is very dissatisfied with the service" , "My father always “He gave instructions in an authoritarian manner.”

The etymological origin of the concept is uncertain although there are different theories about it:

  • Talante could derive from the Greek talanton , which was what the plate that had the scales was called.
  • Another possibility is that it comes from the Arabic tal'ah , which can be translated as "semblance" .

Various uses of the notion of disposition

Mood also refers to the characteristics , powers or state of something: “We are a movement with a profound democratic spirit that is always open to dialogue” , “A journalist should not engage in partisan speeches” , “I want to buy a "sports car."

The notion, on the other hand, can mention the countenance or appearance of an individual: “Today you are not in a good mood: are you feeling well?” , “With an affable disposition, the footballer was willing to talk to the children” , “At this point in my life, I no longer have the same disposition as in my youth after making such an effort” .

In the case of actors, mood is very important as it allows them to convey emotions . A performer with a deadpan disposition is unlikely to be considered a talented artist. On the other hand, someone who can reflect different expressions in their disposition will be able to transmit a wide range of emotions and enrich the character they play.

Having an expressive disposition is very important for an actor.

The term in politics

Some time ago, in Spain the term disposition was widely used. Specifically, it was during the government led by the socialist José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero , as he advocated leading the country with good spirit, to create harmony between all political groups and to be able to join forces for the common good.

He opted so much for that and on so many occasions used the notion that, in the end, his time in office has gone down in history as "that of talent."

In the same way, within the political sphere we cannot forget the existence of what has been called a liberal spirit . This expression refers to the behavior of certain political leaders and members of chambers who leave aside the party to which they belong in order to make decisions in favor of unity. These are individuals who to adopt that position have to be tolerant and progressive.

The Talante neighborhood

Talante , finally, is the name of a neighborhood that is part of the Puerto Rican municipality of Maunabo .
