A point of view arises from a person's position in a certain context.
Point is a term with various meanings: the circular sign of small dimensions; the spelling note that is written above the i and the j; the sign that marks the end of a sentence; the unit of scoring in a game; or the rating measure of a thing that can be judged through a scale, among others. In this case, we are interested in the definition of point as a site or place ( “The square will be the starting point of the race” ).
Sight , on the other hand, refers to vision as the ability to interpret the environment through the image captured by the eye. What is visible is what can be seen. For example: “Land the sight! We will arrive in just over an hour” , “The actor lost his sight in a terrible accident when he was three years old” .
What is a point of view
The idea of point of view refers to the place from which a person observes a situation. Both the place and the act of observing can be concrete or symbolic.
If a person is standing in front of the door of his house and says , “From my point of view, that thing that is flying at full speed is a hawk,” the expression will be based on something physical. The subject's point of view depends on its body location, as does perception (the bird flying closer).

Given that meaning it has, we can say that point of view is a term widely used when referring to the conversation between two or more people on a specific topic. In this way, in it what each of the participants will do is offer, pardon the redundancy, their point of view, their opinion, about it.
Hence, if in a talk a subject comments “I respect your opinion, but my point of view is different since I would never distrust Clara,” the notion of point of view is related to subjectivity and thought . The point of view, in this case, is a personal opinion that has nothing to do with a physical situation.
Point of View Festival
In addition to everything stated above, we would also have to add that there is an important world event that uses the term we are analyzing as its title. We are specifically referring to the Punto de Vista Festival, also called the Navarra International Documentary Film Festival.
In 2005, this event began its journey, which takes place in the capital, in Pamplona, and whose clear objective is to make a strong commitment to the so-called documentary genre, which, in most cases, does not find the support or promotion necessary to reach the general public.
Conferences, meetings and screenings make up the program of said festival, within which awards are presented to the best director, the best short film, the special audience award or various special mentions.
François Bovy, Peter Kerekes, Tomasz Wolski, Tatsuya Yamamoto and Clio Barnard are some of the filmmakers who have seen their work recognized at this event in which tribute has been paid to important figures of this art such as the Frenchman Jean Vigo, known for films such as “L'Atalante” (1934) or “Zero in Conduct” (1933).
