The beginning is the beginning of something.

The beginning of a story should contain few and direct elements, capable of attracting the reader's curiosity. Many suspense authors, for example, begin at the end , that is, they present a conflict based on a past event that is not named, which leads the reader to want to know that story in any way. Possibly, this is one of the best ways to approach a work of this type.

In the case of the novel it is different since by having more time and space, it is possible to express clearly and extensively what you want, playing much more with its different elements. It is often said that because of this advantage over the story, an unimpressive or poor beginning does not condemn the work to failure; However, that is not the case. The principle must also be carefully studied in a text of this magnitude. A suspense novel, to speak of the same genre, usually presents an important conflict from the first page, so that the reader feels attracted and wants to continue reading.
