Pleasure

Sexuality

Sexual pleasure is associated with the stimulation of the genitals and erogenous zones.

Pleasure is a concept that refers to the delight or joy experienced when doing or achieving something that causes pleasure. Before moving on to the meaning of the term, it should be noted that its etymological origin is found in the Latin placere, which can be translated as “to like.”

For example: “I feel pleasure every time I come to eat at this restaurant,” “For me, opening a book and starting to read a new story is a pleasure,” “It doesn't give me pleasure to see how my father's efforts don't pay off.” no fruit."

Pleasure can be understood as the positive thing that is felt when satisfying a need or achieving an objective . There are, therefore, multiple sources of pleasure according to the context. That which causes pleasure is known as pleasurable.

sexual pleasure

Sexual relations , in this sense, can be described as pleasurable. People often enjoy stimulating their genitals, so sex causes physical pleasure.

Within this type of pleasure, sexual, it must be taken into account that it is not only achieved with the stimulation of the genitals but also with the excitement caused by caressing other parts of the body. Those areas that, in the same way, cause pleasure are known as erogenous zones and among them are the neck, chest, earlobes...

Likewise, we must not forget that each person finds sexual pleasure in different positions, with different fantasies and even with varied experiences. Examples of this are those who get excited by carrying out sadomasochistic actions, those who need to dress or have their partner wear certain clothes...

What is clear, as demonstrated by various studies, is that experiencing sexual pleasure helps improve sleep, put an end to stress and have greater self-esteem.

Meal

Chocolate is a food that usually causes pleasure.

Other types of satisfaction

Eating a food that we like can also be considered a pleasure. When food enters the palate, and even before through sight and smell, we can feel something pleasant arising from the flavors and aromas.

Other pleasures are not physical, but rather symbolic. Have a hobby like collecting postage stamps; play a video game; read a book; draw; or listening to music are some activities that can produce pleasure.

When a person pursues pleasure as the main purpose of his existence, he will be said to be a hedonist . Hedonism is the doctrine followed by those who live to maximize pleasures and minimize pain. It should be noted, however, that certain moral positions consider that the hedonist is selfish because he does not think about the problems of his neighbor, but only privileges his pleasure.

More uses of the term pleasure

We cannot ignore either that there are many other meanings of pleasure. Thus, for example, in Cuba this term is used to refer to a barren field that is close to the city.

Likewise, it is also used to mention the stone or sand banks that exist at the bottom of the sea and that are identified both by being flat and by the fact that they have a quite notable extension.
