In order to understand the meaning of the vernacular term, it is necessary first to determine its etymological origin. In this sense, we would have to say that it emanates from Latin, vernaculus , which was used to refer to everything related to a country.

However, we cannot ignore either that this Latin word, in turn, comes from vernus , which can be translated as "indigenous", and this from verna , which was the word used to refer to the domestic slave who had arrived. to be born even in one's own home.

• It should be noted that the vernacular architecture of one place is different from that of another.
