It has spots all over its skin, which are green or brown on its back and may have reddish spots on its sides. The largest known brown trout weighs 14 kg.
- Rainbow trout : This is a marine and freshwater fish, native to the northern Pacific Ocean , especially from the Baja California Peninsula , in Mexico , to Japan , crossing the Bering Sea . Man has artificially introduced it into many more places. Rainbow trout is also part of the aforementioned list of exotic species. It is known that its body can measure 120 cm, although its length is generally around 60 cm. It has 3 or 4 spines on its dorsal fin and its color depends largely on its habitat, with those from rivers being darker than those from lakes.
- Golden trout : It is a freshwater fish that lives at the bottom of cold, clean waters, such as high mountain lakes and rivers, and is found in the Kern River watershed, in the state of California , in the United States . The longest golden trout ever seen measures 71 cm, more than double its normal length.
- Cutthroat trout – is a freshwater and marine fish found natively in the Pacific Ocean , from northern California to mid- Alaska , and artificially found in rivers and lakes in the eastern United States . It is worth mentioning that its image represents the emblem of the state of Montana .
Trout is a fish highly sought after by fishermen . Its meat is tasty and can be consumed in various ways. Sport fishing also usually pays attention to this fish since it offers an uphill battle to those who try to catch it with a rod.
