Satisfaction

Accordance

Satisfaction can be associated with resolving a need or satisfying a desire.

Satisfaction , from the Latin satisfitio , is the action and effect of satisfying or being satisfied . This verb refers to paying what is owed, satisfying an appetite, calming the passions of the spirit , meeting certain demands, rewarding a merit or undoing a grievance.

Satisfaction, therefore, can be the action or reason with which a complaint or contrary reason is responded to. For example: "With this delivery, we have fulfilled the satisfaction of your order" , "We are going to give you a t-shirt to satisfy your requirements" , "The company invests millions of dollars a year in satisfying the needs of its customers" , «There is no satisfaction that is worth forgetting this bad moment.»

Satisfaction as fulfillment of desires or tastes

Satisfying others is very important, but it should only be done once we feel comfortable with ourselves and meet our needs . It is not healthy to worry exclusively about our neighbor, no matter how much it means to us; A lack of self-love can only lead to unhealthy relationships, which end up destroying each other and us. To be in a position to help our environment we must learn to respect ourselves and give ourselves what is good for us.

The fulfillment of taste or desire is also known as satisfaction: «To my satisfaction, Peñarol won three to one and was at the top of the standings» , «The film gave me great satisfaction since it allowed me to see it again the beautiful landscapes of my hometown" , "Is the room to the lady's satisfaction?" .

State of harmony and plenitude

Satisfaction is understood as a mental state that is produced by the optimization of brain feedback. Different regions of the brain compensate for their energy potential and provide the feeling of fullness.

By achieving satisfaction, the mental functioning of the human being is in harmony . Satisfaction contributes to happiness while, on the contrary, dissatisfaction generates suffering.

Happiness

Satisfaction can be understood as a state of mind.

Sexual satisfaction

An area in which the term satisfaction is often used is sexuality . When two people have sexual relations, it is expected that both reach a state of satisfaction, that they feel comfortable with the experience and that they satisfy their need to be together.

However, this is not always the case, since for various reasons it usually happens that the union is not the product of mutual will, or that one of the parties does not care that the other enjoys the sexual act as much as they do.

Vocation and vainglory

Unfortunately, satisfaction is not associated with vocation as commonly as it is with sexuality. Finding one's own path in life is necessary to achieve fulfillment as a person, but the lack of incentive on the part of parents and educators often makes this discovery, as essential for life as oxygen itself, considerably difficult. When we feel comfortable with our profession we are positively predisposed to face the rest of the aspects of our existence.

This does not mean that vocation is the only fundamental point to feel satisfied with our lives; It is as important as interpersonal relationships and our principles. To be happy we need to find meaning in our daily lives, have someone to share it with and base our existence on compassion for others and the search for justice. If any of these elements are missing, satisfaction is fleeting, since we do not achieve balance.

Presumption or vainglory is another meaning of satisfaction: "With great satisfaction, I can affirm that we have reached a new sales record," "My main satisfaction is having once again won the championship." In this case, the term satisfaction can be used as a synonym for pride , since it is about the pleasure that an achievement causes us, success in a field that matters a lot to us.
