Resistance, then, can also be associated with the durability of objects . In this sense, it is a quality given by firmness , robustness , tenacity or strength .
When a product is resistant, it can withstand knocks, shocks or vibration without suffering fractures, breaks or further damage. Depending on the case, it may also have tolerance to inclement weather (extreme temperatures, humidity, etc.).
It can be said that an element with good resistance does not undergo decomposition, degradation or corrosion over time . For psychology, resistance is an attitude that opposes the therapeutic approach . A resistance behavior is an oppositional behavior that an individual adopts towards another (or others), which can have a positive or negative value.
In the social sciences , resistance involves a person's rejection of the practices that until now have allowed them to think about themselves. Thus resistance implies an individual or collective search for other practices.
