Purification

water treatment

Purification is a process carried out to remove impurities.

Purification is a concept that derives from purificatĭo , a word from the Latin language. The term refers to the process and consequences of purifying (removing imperfections or strangeness from something so that it recovers its essence ).

There are different ways of understanding this notion. Purification can refer to removing impurities or dirt from a liquid . In the specific case of water , its purification consists of reducing the level of substances harmful to the body, such as bacteria, toxic components, etc. When the water reaches a level suitable for human consumption, purification becomes purification .

Other types of purification

If we talk about protein purification , we will be referring to a process to achieve the isolation of a certain kind of protein , separating it from other components of a mixture.

Purification is also linked to the refining of a chemical substance . If oil is refined, what will be done is removing residues that could hinder its use as fuel.

The term in religion

In the field of religion , purification is a ritual that is carried out so that the body symbolically recovers its state of purity. In this way, purification consists of spiritual cleansing through prayers and the use of holy water or incense, among other actions.

Within the religious sector specifically, we would have to explain that the term purification is also used. In that case, it is used to refer to the set of washings that, during the mass, are performed on the chalice after having consumed the wine that, as if it were blood, is poured inside.

But this word is also used to refer to the action carried out by the priest and which consists of anointing or throwing holy water inside the church. This occurs within Christianity, however, Muslims undertake purification precisely before entering their temples . Specifically, they perform the so-called ablutions, which consist of washing various parts of their body, such as the hands, head, mouth and feet.

Purification as a name

In the same way, we cannot forget that this word in question is also a woman's name. Thus, there are famous people named like that, as would be the case, for example, of the designer Purificación García . Women who respond to this name are considered to be reserved, sensitive, very refined, with great artistic abilities, perfectionists and character.
