Architectural project

Architecture

An architectural project details how a work of architecture is planned to be developed.

An architectural project is a set of information and diagrams that allow detailing, in some type of support, what a work of architecture that is planned to be carried out will be like. These projects include graphics, diagrams, plans and information that are presented in printed and/or digital format. They may also include models and other types of representations.

It should be noted that projects are guides or instructions that detail the steps to follow to achieve a certain objective. A project, in this way, collects ideas and actions that are interrelated with a goal. Architectural , for its part, refers to what is linked to architecture (the science dedicated to the design and construction of buildings).

Framework of an architectural project

When undertaking an architectural project, it must be taken into account that a series of criteria must be followed so that it is the result of serious, professional and competent work:

  1. The first thing is to establish the contextual framework in which it will be developed. This means recording the conditions in which it occurs, both economically and politically, among others. In that same field, reference should be made to the conclusions of the design, the definition of its users or the problem to be solved.
  2. Secondly, there is what is called historical framework . Under this name are included issues such as contributions and innovations, the evolution of the building to be designed, conclusions related to sustainability , design or typology...
  3. Thirdly, there is the theoretical-conceptual framework . This comes to define everything from the conceptualization of the building to be built (when, how much it costs, why, how, with what...) to the theoretical foundation, passing through the architectural influences it has or the conclusions of the design.
  4. The next step is to determine the so-called methodological framework . This makes clear the steps that are going to be taken, the techniques and procedures that will be used and even what are the necessary recommendations in this regard.
  5. Finally, the operational framework must be defined, which establishes the beginning of the work.

Broadly speaking, we can say that these are the main pillars of an architectural project, so that it is adequate, optimal, advantageous and in accordance with the needs of a building.

Scheme

The architectural project defines the framework and establishes the steps to follow.

Its development

The architect who develops the project begins by conducting research on the viability of his idea. The usual thing is that a person goes to the architect with a specific request and that the architect analyzes how a construction could satisfy the needs raised by his client.

According to the available land, the budget, the deadlines and other variables that the architect must determine, the development of the architectural project will begin. The architect will specify which spaces you plan to build (for example, bedrooms, dining room, bathroom, kitchen, and patio) and will plot the layout .

Representations will then be added to the plans through models or computer programs, which allow the client to "see" what the building that the architect intends to develop is like.

Finally, the architect will advance with the construction plans and with various reports aimed at contractors and builders so that the work can materialize.
