Plan holder

A plan holder is a product designed to store plans : that is, two-dimensional documents that are used to represent, through diagrams and scales, constructions, devices or territories. Plan holders have a cylindrical shape, since the papers must be stored rolled up.

Plan holderEngineers and architects often work with plans. To represent a three-dimensional surface, they use lines and points that they arrange on a sheet. These planes must be kept clean and wrinkle-free, for which some type of device is needed to enable safe transfer.

This need gave rise to the development of plane holders. Various accessories are usually incorporated into the tube where the rolled planes are inserted, such as ruler holders or straps , to increase its performance.

In addition to making it easier to move plans, plan holders provide other benefits. With them it is possible to organize and classify plans in a simple way, and they even help save space in the office .

The plane tubes that we can find for sale are of various types, both in terms of size and the material with which they are manufactured. Thus, regarding dimensions we can establish that among the most common are those of 50, 70, 90 and 112 centimeters.

Regarding the materials used for its manufacture, we find cardboard, plastic, rigid cardboard...

Likewise, we cannot ignore that blueprint holders are also commonly used by fine arts students and artists. And many of them keep their canvases, watercolors or sketches in these items so that they do not wrinkle or get damaged in any way.

To fulfill its objective , the plan holder must have certain qualities. It is essential that it be resistant , otherwise it could be damaged when transported (which would expose the plane to possible damage).

It is convenient, on the other hand, that the plan holder is extendable so it can be adapted to the measurements of the plan. If it has a strap , it also makes moving it from one place to another easier.

The plan holder, in short, is a storage instrument . Those who dedicate themselves to technical drawing as part of their professional activity use these tools to optimize their work.

However, although plane tubes are the most used and known, we cannot ignore that there are two other types of them. We are referring to the following:

-Plan holder systems, which are made with different materials, all of them of quality, with the aim of being able to store plans in unbeatable conditions. They usually have square or rectangular structures, composed of a fixed bar as well as ruler holders and straps, thanks to which it is possible to store the plans completely open and without them creasing in any case. Likewise, it must be emphasized that these systems are usually very light, very functional and really comfortable when used.

-Plan briefcases, which, as their name indicates, are briefcases created exclusively to transport plans. Specifically, to save plans of its dimensions. They can be purchased in different colors, they are resistant and, in addition, comfortable to transport.
