In any case, according to the way in which the talk is developed, it can receive different names. A talk, in this sense, can be a meeting of experts who debate a topic or the exchange of opinions within the framework of a conference . The talks can also be about any topic: there are sports talks , academic talks , romantic talks , etc.
The talks can have different characteristics.
How to start a conversation
Starting from these considerations, we find the problem that many people, due to shyness, have problems when starting a conversation with another individual. Therefore, it is recommended that you resort to using different tips to be able to “break the ice” :
- Ask a simple question.
- Talk about the weather there.
- Show interest in the book the other person is reading, the cell phone they have or the shirt they are wearing.
- Resort to talking about acquaintances you have in common.
- Introduce yourself.
There are various social conventions that mark the beginning and end of a talk. These conventions vary depending on the context , the proximity between the interlocutors and other factors.
Professional talk
There is also what is known as professional talk . This is a conference or exhibition held by an expert in a specific area in front of a group of attendees. As a general rule, the development of a talk is made up of several parts:

- Development and presentation of the topic to be discussed.
- Question time from attendees as well as exchange of ideas and opinions.
- Thanks and recognitions.
