The terrorist organization OLLA

As an acronym, OLLA was a Catalan terrorist organization with a libertarian tendency although with a clear nationalist sensitivity, emerged in 1972 by a group from the Socialist National Liberation Party called Resistencia . The full name of the OLLA was Organització de la Lluita Armada , which can be translated as Organization of Armed Struggle .

It was related to other armed groups of the time, such as the Internationalist Revolutionary Action Group and the Iberian Liberation Movement , given their compatibility at an ideological level. In a book titled "Countdown" , by the Catalan writer Francesc Escribano , there are testimonies from OLLA militants related to the organization's support in the face of unjust arrests and death sentences.

The OLLA helped its militants through international campaigns, enlisting the help of various anarchist groups on the European continent, and also with protests. The group 's activity ended in 1974 , when some of its members were arrested on a train bound for France . Thanks to the contribution of Felip Solé , one of the members of the organization, there is a large volume of documents about said arrest, both the actions of the police, the military trial, the defense and the accusations of subversive and terrorist activities that were received. the members of the OLLA.

Just like the OLLA, there were other armed libertarian organizations in Catalonia that emerged at the end of Franco's rule. Fundamental to its study are the sources donated by the aforementioned Felip Solé , as well as Salvador Puig Antich , among others, which are currently in the Library of the Pavilion of the Republic .
