Orange is a fruit with various medicinal properties.

Its most distant antecedent is the Sanskrit word nāraṅga , which derived from the Persian nārang , in turn adapted to Arabic as nāranǧ . To the Hispanic Arabic it arrived as naranǧa : from there, finally, orange emerges.
