The set of laws that makes the organization of the State possible is known as legislation.
Before entering fully into the meaning of the term legislation , we are going to proceed to know its etymological origin. In this case, we can state that it derives from Latin, specifically from "legalatio", which can be translated as "action and effect of generating laws" and that it is the result of the sum of the following lexical components:
-The noun "lex", which means "law".
-The word "latus", which is synonymous with "carried" or "loaded".
-The suffix "-tio", which is used to indicate "action and effect."
Legislation is known as the set of laws that enable the organization of a certain subject or a State . Among the words that can function as synonyms for legislation we find some such as constitution, jurisdiction, code, regulation, law, rule or statute, among others.
What is legislation
Legislation, therefore, is the body of rules that allow life to be organized in a territory. This is the legal system that establishes which actions or behaviors are prohibited and which are those that are permitted or mandatory in certain circumstances.
Laws are drafted and approved by the competent authorities. Legislation, in this framework, is made up of those regulations that govern a city, a region or a country. Thanks to legislation, it is possible to resolve conflicts, protect rights and punish those who violate the law .

Take the case of a person who wants to buy a car. To carry out the operation legally and then drive the vehicle without breaking any rules, you must respect everything established by law. A historical collection
In addition to all of the above, we cannot ignore that in Spain there is what is known as the Historical Legislation of Spain . Under that name there is a collection of documents that collect the regulations that were promulgated both for the territories of the Peninsula and for the territories of America that depended on the Spanish Crown.
These regulations are dated to the corresponding period between the 10th century and the final period of the reign of Elizabeth II. Specifically, currently this collection houses some 35,355 laws.
