The etymological origin of the term foundation is found in Latin. And it is the result of the sum of two components of said language: the noun “fundus”, which is synonymous with “base” or “background”, and the suffix “-mento”, which is equivalent to “instrument” or “ half".
Foundation is the principle or foundation on which something is supported and developed. It can be the literal and material basis of a construction or the symbolic support of something. For example: “Respect for one's teammate and one's rival is the foundation of this team's success,” “I am not going to support a candidacy that has no foundation,” “The building has flaws from its foundation.”
When talking about any of the various existing sports disciplines, it is common to resort to the use of the term foundation. The foundation, the basis of reasoning
The concept is used to name the reason or reason with which something is intended to be secured or secured. A rationale, in this sense, acts as an argument : “The businessman took the high production costs in the city as the basis for moving the factory to another province,” “I can't find any rationale that justifies a decision of this type.”
Foundation can also be the formality or seriousness of an individual: “He is a nice guy, but he has no foundation,” “Without foundation you cannot succeed in the professional world.”
The concept in books and music
In addition to everything stated above, we would have to highlight the existence of a work entitled “Fundamento de Esperanto”. It was in 1905 that it was published, which was made by the Polish LL Zamenhof and which is a profound analysis of the aforementioned language that he created with the clear purpose that it could become a universal language. Specifically, the work is made up of a prologue, exercises, a dictionary and also grammar.
There is also “The Proposition of the Foundation” (1991) which was made by the thinker Martin Heidegger.
Within the field of music we come across the group called “Sinfunda”. It is a rock and pop band of Canarian origin, which has among its best-known songs “Mi Higo Pico Flower”, “Somosamericanos”, “Fefa” or “Casne con patatas”.
