Promotion

Cooperation

A building society is a non-profit organization that carries out activities to benefit the community.

From the Latin fomentum , encouragement is a protection, help, protection or impulse that is provided to something or someone.

For example: “Thanks to the support of a businessman who preferred to remain anonymous, the association has managed to build a dining room for two hundred people,” “The promotion of tourist activity is vital for the economy of our province,” “The government neglected the promotion of work culture and today crime has gained ground in society.”

development association

The private , non-profit organization that carries out activities for the benefit of the community as a whole is known as a development association or development society .

These types of institutions arise to complete the task of the State and to cover those aspects that are outside the market : “The neighborhood development society planted dozens of trees in the main square and invited the children of the area to take care of them,” “ Dr. Reinaldo López García was elected as the new president of the Santa María development association,” “A member of the local development association was accused of corruption for keeping funds from the institution.”

Legislation

For law, promotion is an action developed by the State to encourage individuals to carry out certain activities of general utility.

A Spanish ministry

However, we cannot ignore that in Spain there is what is known as the Ministry of Public Works . This is a body of the country's government that is in charge of everything related to the set of works and projects related to the infrastructure for land, sea or air transportation of the State.

Urban planning, architecture, access to housing, the organization of postal and telegraphic services or services related to astronomy and cartography, among other disciplines, are also areas that are under the umbrella of the work of the aforementioned Ministry of Development.

A minister, the Secretary of State (Infrastructure, Housing and Transport) and several undersecretaries shape the organization chart of this aforementioned Ministry to which other entities such as Renfe, AENA, ADIF or the port authorities are also attached.

Likewise, in the different autonomous communities that make up Spain there are also Development Departments that are in charge of the same matters mentioned but, always, within the powers that have been granted to them from what would be the Central Government of Madrid .

Promotion in law and medicine

For the law , promotion is an action promoted by the State that consists of encouraging individuals to carry out different activities of general utility on their own: “A novel tourism promotion plan promises to multiply the number of visitors who come to the city” , “Hundreds of ranchers benefited from a plan to promote agricultural activity” .

In addition to all this, we would have to emphasize that promotion is also a term that is used in the field of medicine . Specifically in this sector, it is used to refer to any medication that has two main hallmarks: that it is completely liquid and that it is applied externally through the use of a series of compresses or cloths.

Less frequently, promotion is also used as a synonym for heat.
