There are people who need the help of solidarity to satisfy their basic needs: that is why they ask passers-by to help them with money, food, etc. This help is often channeled through institutions such as the Catholic Church or non-governmental organizations ( NGOs ).
There are many types of aid, including, for example, what is known as humanitarian aid . This is the aid provided to help populations that have suffered a war or any adverse natural phenomenon such as an earthquake, flood, tsunami, etc.
In this way, with this kind of aid, the aim is to give the population not only food to satisfy their hunger but also medical supplies, clothing, etc. In other words, the aim is to cover all the needs that survivors have at that moment. Aid that can come not only from ordinary citizens but also from associations, NGOs, governments or international organisations.

The concept of foreign aid , on the other hand, is used to name the money that the most powerful countries send to underdeveloped nations to help alleviate their economic and social problems.
If aid is intended for populations experiencing a crisis, it is called humanitarian aid , as we have already indicated.
