Lover is one who loves . The concept is used to name the things in which love is manifested. For example: “I am a lover of French fries” , “My brother is a true football lover: he can watch three or four games in a day” , “I thank you for the invitation, but I am not a party lover” .
The term also refers to the man and woman who love each other. However, the meaning usually applies to the informal or clandestine couple, that is, one that is not socially recognized. If a man maintains a parallel relationship with a woman who is not his wife, it is said that this second woman is his lover: “Luciano got divorced because his family discovered that he had a mistress,” “A jilted lover appears in all novels.” , “A lawyer claims that she was the writer's lover for two decades.”
The lovers of Teruel
Among the most famous lovers in the world are those known as Teruel lovers . Halfway between history and legend is the story of these two young people: Juan Martínez de Marcilla and Isabel Segura, who were completely in love and wanted to get married, but his humble origins and her wealthy family became its main obstacles.
That made him decide to go to the army to obtain honors and money with which he could marry his beloved, but not before warning her that if five years passed and he had not returned, she would rebuild her life. After that time, and seeing that Juan did not return, the girl agreed to marry another man.
But he returned and encountered this event, which caused him to fall dead. Suffering from what had happened, she came to kiss him on his deathbed and there she also fell withering before the eyes of those present, who decided to bury them together forever.
In a monogamous relationship, therefore, the lover is the person with whom the first partner is cheated on. The condition of lover usually refers to a relationship of certain stability and permanence, despite the fact that the lovers do not live together or appear in public. Therefore, a lover has no legal status .
