Voucher

Gift

A voucher can be used as a gift.

Voucher is a term from the English language that is not part of the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy ( RAE ). The concept can be translated as coupon , receipt or voucher .

In many countries, the most common use of the notion refers to the document that certifies payment for a product or service and that can be exchanged, when the time comes, for what was purchased. A voucher, in this sense, can also be transferred to another person: that is, someone contracts the service or buys the product and then gives the corresponding voucher to another person so that the latter can use it.

Characteristics of a voucher

The voucher has become one of the most useful gifts that can be used when you have to surprise someone with a gift for their birthday, Christmas or even an anniversary.

If it has experienced a great boom it is thanks to several advantages that it brings with it, among which we can highlight the following:

-It becomes a very quick option to get when you have completely forgotten to buy a gift and you cannot reach the person in question empty-handed. Avoid having to spend time trying to find the perfect gift.

-Another advantage that comes with using a voucher is that it is the way to get the present right. For example, if a man knows that his wife loves a specific fashion brand, he can choose to give her a voucher from that brand with a certain amount so that she can buy the clothes she wants.

-It is a way, above all, not to waste time looking for the perfect gift.

-There are numerous vouchers for sale and at really affordable prices, which also means that you do not have to make a large financial outlay.

An example

Suppose that a company , as a reward, gives a voucher to an employee who stood out for his work. The voucher includes a one-night stay in a five-star hotel.

The person who obtains the voucher, in this way, can go to the hotel establishment and present the document at reception. This way you can enjoy the hotel services without paying, since the voucher works as a means of payment .

Okay

Depending on the context, a voucher can be a voucher, a voucher or a coupon.

The voucher as proof

A voucher can also be the receipt that a person signs when they use their debit card or credit card . In this case, the voucher leaves a printed record of the transaction that is used to eventually make a claim.

For example: a man makes a purchase of $600 with his debit card but, when analyzing his account statement, he notices that the bank has debited him $1,000 . Faced with this inconvenience, he goes with the corresponding voucher to the bank branch to prove that there was an error and request that they refund the 400 dollars that were improperly taken from his account.

Deceptions and scams

In recent times, due to technologies such as WhatsApp, viruses and scams have emerged through the deception of a voucher. Thus, people are sent to their mobile phones the possibility of enjoying it by entering some specific data and the criminal appropriates it for his or her benefit.

That's why it's important not to trust yourself. It is important to find out the origin of this type of proposal and, ultimately, not accept supposed vouchers from strangers.
