surveillance service

The service ordered and arranged to monitor is also known as surveillance, a term that comes from the Latin vigilantĭa. It may be the service provided by a private company (either through guards or technological equipment such as video cameras) or by public security forces (the police, the gendarmerie, the army , etc.): “The surveillance of this company is very strict: it only lets in those who show their identification document” , “The restaurant on the other block decided to hire surveillance after suffering its third robbery in two months” , “The manager plans to install new cameras to reinforce the surveillance of the factory" .

In this sense, we have to highlight that in order to carry out this task of prevention and protection, we must use all types of technical tools and technology. Among them, the so-called video surveillance cameras have taken special prominence in recent years.

These are responsible for recording in images everything that happens in the environment where they are located, whether it is the interior of a building or the exterior of a home. Thanks to them, it is possible to perceive, for example, the arrival of intruders to the place and not only that but now, thanks to the advances they incorporate, they can directly notify the owner of the premises through an alarm when the presence of strangers is perceived.

However, there are many other instruments and devices that can be used to undertake video surveillance tasks. Specifically, we could talk about GPS tracking , wiretapping, hidden microphones, camouflaged vehicles... All devices that, on many occasions, are used by military or police forces when it comes to capturing a dangerous criminal or protecting others. some high-ranking leader of possible attacks that want to end his life.

In some issues, surveillance developed with the objective of guaranteeing security conflicts with people's privacy. That is the case of cameras installed in public places.
