Vacations are associated with leisure and rest.

Vacation is the plural of vacation , a term that comes from the Latin vacatio and refers to a break from a usual activity . This is the period in which people who study or work temporarily suspend their obligations.

Vacations are associated with rest , leisure and tourism . On the one hand, the individual who is on vacation usually wants to rest from the efforts involved in work or study. That is why it is common that, during the vacation period, you modify your routines and wake up later.

Vacations and tourism

Vacations are linked to leisure since they provide the opportunity to embark on those pleasurable activities that, due to lack of time, cannot be done during work or class time. Going on excursions, going to the cinema or the theater, spending the afternoon in a park and visiting a museum are some common activities during the holidays.

In terms of tourism, vacation days offer the opportunity to travel and stay for several days or weeks at the destination, which considerably increases relaxation compared to a weekend getaway. In the summer, the most frequent trips are made to beach areas while, in winter, people usually choose the mountains and snow.

Ship

Cruises are popular vacation options.

Suspension of obligations

In some cases, vacations can also be used to complete procedures that, in the rest of the year, are not carried out due to lack of time.

Vacations ultimately allow us to reduce stress and other pathologies derived from obligations, help improve productivity during the rest of the year and promote economic growth from tourism.

Holiday destinations in the shadows

The list of the most popular vacation destinations worldwide has remained intact for decades, adding an option only in exceptional cases, such as an archaeological discovery that increases people's interest in a certain country . But far from the Caribbean and Paris, there are a series of very attractive cities that only some dare to discover year after year.

Trieste

Italy offers so many vacation options that most tourists tend to overlook this beautiful maritime city , which borders Slovenia and is the meeting point of various cultures. At its peak it was the most important port of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and had prestigious residents, among whom was James Joyce (a novelist of Irish origin known mainly for his novel " Ulysses ", which he began writing in Trieste).

Arras

Those who have visited this incredible French city recommend anyone to dedicate at least one day of their life to its imposing architecture dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, the unforgettable views from its bell tower and its Flemish-style squares. For history lovers, surely the 22 kilometers of underground tunnels that Arras inherited from the Second World War are reason enough to buy the ticket.

gujarat

It is a state in the northwest of India, which offers its visitors a tranquility and hospitality that is difficult to beat. Among the highlights is the island of Diu, a former colony of Portuguese origin. On the other hand, we have the city of Bhuj and the salt pans of Kutch, with very interesting fauna, including flamingos and native wild asses.

Chongqing

For centuries, this Chinese city has lived in the shadows of its neighboring Sichuan. However, they have little to envy the landscapes offered by its Yangtze River and its peculiar spicy cuisine. In Chongqing it is possible to appreciate the contrast between the present and the past of this ancient land, thanks to its rural areas, which seem to have come out of an ancient painting and that inevitably coexist with modernity.
