Transmission

Antenna

Data transmission consists of the sending or exchange of information, whether digital or analog.

Transmission is a term that comes from the Latin transmissio and refers to the action and effect of transmitting . This verb, for its part, is linked to transfer, move, disseminate, communicate or lead , depending on the context .

Mechanical transmission , for example, is the mechanism that is responsible for transmitting power between two or more elements of a machine, and this is usually carried out using rotating elements, such as gears with belts or chains.

By changing the rotational speed of an input shaft, the transmission generates a different output speed. An example of the use of transmission appears in the case of automobiles.

Heat and data transmission

The transfer of thermal energy from a body with a higher temperature to another with a lower temperature is known as heat transfer . This transfer occurs in such a way that both bodies (or the body and its environment) reach thermal equilibrium.

Data transmission , on the other hand, is the exchange or sending of information in analog or digital format. Television and radio are said to transmit their programs, since they reach the public through antennas, cables and other devices. For example: «The Channel 12 broadcast was cut off just as the president's speech began» , «I don't like the match broadcast: the camera is too far from the action» , «Thanks to the efforts of our advertisers, the broadcast "It comes live and direct to every corner of the country" , "The recital will not be broadcast on television, but can be heard on the radio or the Internet " .

STDs

Any infection that is acquired through having sexual relations with a person who previously has it is known as a sexually transmitted disease ( STD ), and its causes can be parasites, viruses or bacteria.

Many of these diseases are as common in men as in women, although very often the complications that arise from them tend to especially affect women. In the case of pregnancy, in addition, the baby can also suffer the consequences.

STDs caused by parasites or bacteria can be treated with certain medications, such as antibiotics; On the other hand, those that are viral in origin have no cure, although some drugs help keep them under control. To prevent the spread of a sexually transmitted disease, the use of latex condoms is recommended ; However, this precaution is not foolproof.

The most common sexually transmitted diseases

Among the most common STDs are the following:

* Chlamydia : It is caused by a bacteria and is spread during any type of sexual practice . It affects men and women equally. Normally there are no symptoms, but it can cause a certain burning when urinating, or a strange discharge from the penis or vagina;

* Genital herpes : It is caused by the herpes simplex virus and is spread through penetration and oral sex. It usually causes sores in the genital or rectal area, on the thighs and buttocks. It is worth mentioning that the presence of these sores is not necessary for contagion to occur. Women can infect their children at the time of childbirth ;

* AIDS : acronym that represents acquired immunodeficiency syndrome , the most advanced phase of infection caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). It can be contracted through sexual relations with someone who is infected, and babies can catch it from their mothers in the womb or during childbirth;

* HPV : acronym for human papillomavirus , which can cause warts and comes in more than a hundred forms. Many of these viruses are harmless, although a third are associated with an increased chance of contracting cancer .
