A title is an expression or a term that informs the theme or name of a content or a work.

From the Latin titŭlus , a title is a term or expression that communicates the name or theme of a work, whether it is a book, an album, a movie, etc. For example: «»The lost symbol» is the title of Dan Brown's latest novel» , «The artist is working on a new album whose title is not yet known» , «The title of the television program had to be modified after an accusation of plagiarism .

In cinematographic matters we can clarify that, in addition to that title, which is what gives the "name" to the film itself, there are also what are known as credit titles. This term comes to express the list or list of all the people who have worked on its realization. It is common for it to appear on the screen once the footage has ended.

The title as recognition

A title is also the recognition or endorsement given to a person for their knowledge, ancestry or other particularity. The academic title is awarded by an educational entity after successfully completing a degree or course: "My father has a degree in Lawyer" , "My dream is to obtain a degree in Psychology and practice in a poor neighborhood to help people" .

In this way, we can determine and link another meaning that the term we are addressing has. And specifically, it is used to refer to any document or instrument that proves that a specific person is qualified to perform a job or profession.

A noble title , on the other hand, is a legal distinction given to nobles. In the Middle Ages , these titles represented the essence of the social and political structure, while currently they are only maintained for symbolic purposes. Great Britain , Spain , Denmark , Monaco and Sweden are some of the countries that recognize noble titles.

Diploma

When a person completes an academic degree, they obtain a title.

Other uses of the notion

Other uses of the concept of title are related to the legal record in which a right is established or a duty is determined ( “I am very happy, I already have the title to the house” ) and with financial documentation that reflects a debt or a value ( "The price of Google shares rose 5% in the technology market" ).

In the same way, we cannot ignore the fact that the concept of title is also used to refer to various main sections into which laws and regulations are divided. Thus, for example, we find that the Spanish Constitution of 1978 is made up of a total of eleven titles, among which Title I stands out for being the one that refers to what the Fundamental Rights and Duties are.

This title is in turn made up of a significant number of articles . Specifically, it is established that it begins in what is article number 10, which refers to the dignity of the person as well as the norms of rights and freedoms, and ends in number 55, which is the one that raises the suspension of rights when states of emergency or siege are established.

The title as a trophy

Title, finally, can be used as a synonym for trophy or cup .

«Italy won the world title in 2006» y «The team is only two points away from securing the tournament title» son frases que muestran este uso.
