Thriller

Crime

The thriller is a literary and cinematographic genre that focuses on generating suspense.

The term thriller is not part of the dictionary developed by the Royal Spanish Academy ( RAE ). The concept is used with reference to the literary or cinematographic genre that is based on the generation of suspense (expectation or curiosity full of anxiety on the part of the reader/viewer to know what will happen in the plot next).

As a genre , the thriller tries to generate fear in the recipient and move them through unexpected events. Generally, the protagonist or hero is a character who generates empathy in the audience: people, therefore, worry about their situation in the future of the actions. Villains , for their part, are usually those who, with their actions, generate the events that produce suspense (the protagonist, for example, must save his life from a trap set by the villain, rescue another character who is kidnapped, etc. .).

The thriller is also characterized by its agile pace and the emotions provoked by its action through chases, explosions and fights. Typically, at the end of the story, the hero ends up defeating the villain and accomplishing his goals.
