A fabric is a material made up of multiple threads.

A fabric is a flexible sheet composed of many threads that intersect regularly and alternately along the entire length. The fabrics can be works woven on the loom or similar ones that are formed by aligned series of stitches or loops made with the same thread.

In this sense, fabric is the main component of most clothing . The clothing industry is based on fabrics to make t-shirts, shirts, pants and all types of clothing. The characteristics of fabrics can vary according to their permeability, tenacity and elasticity, for example.

Various types of fabrics

There are many different types of fabrics; some come from weaving organic materials , others are obtained from synthetic processing and, depending on the material with which they have been prepared, they can be used for certain garments . Some types of fabrics are:

* Acetate : it is a fabric manufactured artificially from acetate fiber threads extracted from cellulose; It has the characteristic of not shrinking, creasing or fading and is usually used for the production of lingerie and evening dresses.

* Acrylics : it is a fabric similar to wool that has the characteristic of presenting absolutely clear colors and is a highly recommended alternative for wool.

* Cashmere : it is an extremely soft fabric with a silk-like appearance; It is usually used for the manufacture of coats and dresses of a certain quality.

* Chiffon or Tulle : similar to silk chiffon, it is a light and semi-transparent fabric that is usually used in blouses and scarves that will be used in ceremonies that will take place at sunset.

* Damask : It is a reversible type fabric that is usually used to create tablecloths, curtains and covers for pillows or mattresses.

* Denim : is a firm cotton fabric that resembles denim in texture. According to its firmness, it is ideal for the manufacture of uniforms, sports clothing , tablecloths and fabrics used in industrial fields and work clothing.

* Flannel : also called fleece and is extremely soft, it has a slightly satiny surface that prevents the weaves of the fabric from being seen. It is used for the manufacture of jackets, skirts, dresses and suits and requires careful treatment, otherwise it may shrink and become damaged.

* Nylon or Nylon (Nylon) : it is an extremely resistant and elastic synthetic fabric. It has the quality of being easy to wash, not being absorbent and drying quickly. It is usually used in the manufacture of fabrics of various characteristics and knitwear; also for underwear (stockings, socks, women's intimate clothing) and sweaters.

On the other hand, fabric is known as certain membranes with a soft consistency (such as the fabric of the heart or brain), the cream that is generated in certain liquids, and canvases in the field of painting.
