Supply

Electricity

Electricity supply is essential in any home.

When we talk about supply, we refer to the act and consequence of supplying (that is, providing someone with something they require ). The term refers to both the provision of food or utensils and the objects and effects that have been supplied.

At an economic level, the notion is used as a synonym for supply . It is the activity that is carried out to satisfy the consumption needs of an economic structure (a family, a company, etc.). The supply, which can be associated with the English concept of supply , must be carried out in a timely manner.

Access to basic services and products

Thus, for example, we can say that there are companies and industries that are responsible for supplying the different inhabitants of a city with a series of services and products as necessary as water, electricity or gas. This would be, in Spanish territory, the case of Endesa, which is an entity that is responsible for the supply of electricity.

This term that we are analyzing leads us to also establish that in the case of Spain there is what is known as a supply contract. This is a document that revolves around what is, within the public sector, the lease or purchase of a series of products or real estate.

Specifically, the phases that make up the process that has said contract as its pillar are three: execution, compliance and finally, the corresponding resolution.

Hygiene

An interruption in the water supply causes all kinds of inconveniences.

Supply chain

It must be taken into account that the supply chain encompasses the procedures for exchanging materials and information that are developed within an organization or outside, in front of its suppliers and customers. This chain links all those who are responsible for providing services and goods with their respective clients.

The supply chain begins with unprocessed raw materials and concludes with finished products that reach the final consumer. The various processes are under the control and administration of logistics , which is the set of methods and means to carry out the organization of a company or service .

It is essential to guarantee the correct development of the supply chain to maintain the stock level (the amount of products available to satisfy demand). Planning future needs is necessary to manage orders with suppliers.

Logistics in times of war

Beyond the economic issue, supply is very important in times of war . When supplies to a city are cut off through bombings against logistics, a subsistence crisis can arise among the population.

However, in this same area we can highlight the fact that another meaning of the term we are addressing is in relation to what the military field is. Thus, we usually speak of supply in this case to refer to the set of provisions and other utensils that are given to the troops during a specific moment and circumstance such as, precisely, a war conflict like the one mentioned.

In the same way, this concept is also used to encompass the set of foods that are given to those people who may be in prison or who are defined as being punished.
