Saw

Firewood

The chainsaw is a type of saw that is powered by a motor.

A saw is a tool used to cut hard objects such as wood . This device usually has a serrated steel blade that is attached to a hilt or handle. The concept, coming from the Latin serra , also has other uses.

For example: “I'm going to go to the forest to look for firewood: please give me the saw” , “I need a saw to cut the branches of the tree that are already entering the house” , “My grandmother's neighbor cut his hand with a saw.”

Saw types

The saw can be manual (it is propelled and operated with the action of the hands) or connected to an energy source ( electricity , steam or other). Regarding the teeth, there are three main types: the universal teeth (with pointed teeth that have a positive or negative angle and are interspersed), the North American teeth (which alternates three straight teeth with one concave) and the Japanese teeth (combines teeth of different sizes, with a hollowing out of the outer faces of the leaf).

We cannot ignore what is known as a chainsaw , which is a saw that is made up of a series of teeth that are put into operation when powered by a motor. It is curious to highlight that one of the most important horror characters of the 20th century , the protagonist of the film saga “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” uses that tool to kill his victims.

torture instrument

However, we cannot forget that the saw is an instrument of torture that already appears in the Bible . In Spain it was used during the 18th century as a way to end the lives of soldiers who, for one reason or another, had not carried out their duties.

However, in the rest of Europe the saw was also used as a mechanism of torture and death. Thus, for example, in France it was used to eliminate witches and in Germany the same was done with those peasants who were considered to incite the rest of the people to rebel against the imposed rules and obligations.

Mountain

The elevation that is part of a mountain range is called a mountain range.

The mountain range as a mountain and as an animal

A mountain range, on the other hand, is a part of a mountain range . It is usually composed of a main mountain alignment that acts as its axis and that, in certain cases, is accompanied by other mountains of lower altitude: “Sierra Maestra is a key place in the history of Cuba,” “I am going to visit the mountains of “Tandil on my next vacation.”

In the case of Spain , one of the most important mountain ranges is the so-called Sierra Morena , located in the south of the country. It is about 400 kilometers long, along which there are natural spaces of great value and natural interest, such as the Sierra de Cardeña-Montoro Natural Park or the Despeñaperros Natural Park . Both are known for being the habitats where one of the animal species in danger of extinction is found living: the Iberian lynx.

Lastly, the sawfish, also known as the barracuda , is a long, thin fish that lives in the southern hemisphere. It lives in the seas, has a dorsal fin and can weigh up to six kilograms.
