Hitman

Killer

A hitman is an individual who receives money in exchange for committing murders.

A hitman is a person who commits murders in exchange for money . That is why it is often said that a hitman is a hitman or a contract killer .

In these cases, the individual offers the action of killing another person as if it were a “service,” in the sense that he is hired and obtains money in exchange for completing his task. Hitmen, therefore, do not kill for personal revenge , religious reasons, political reasons or in the event of robbery, but rather do so for economic retribution.

The hitmen, obviously, are subjects who are outside the law since they commit crimes . He who hires a hitman also commits a crime , even if he is not materially responsible for the murder.

Hitmen in different areas

Mafias often use hitmen to eliminate members of rival gangs, members of security forces or investigators who threaten their criminal activities. Hitmen also appear in the drug trafficking business, either for the murder of those who dispute the sale of drugs in a certain territory or to kill someone who does not pay a debt (the murder, in this case, can serve as a signal or threat for the rest of the debtors).

Although they act for money, hitmen can become involved in family or social issues that are not linked to business . There have been cases of people who hired a hitman to murder an ex-partner out of spite, without there being an economic intention behind the crime for the person carrying out the assignment.

Just as with drug consumption, the channels through which a hitman should be contacted are not publicly known. In fact, most of us are unaware of that information, and this protects both parties. Needless to say, the work of a hitman is neither pleasant nor considered ethical , and making the decision to hire their services can end more lives than expected.

A controversial film

As a proper name, "Sicario" is the title of a North American film premiered in May 2015 at the Cannes Film Festival , written by Taylor Sheridan and directed by Denis Villeneuve . Among its protagonists are Emily Blunt and Benicio del Toro . The central themes of the work are drug trafficking and crime , and focus on the border between Mexico and the United States , where an FBI agent played by Blunt must collaborate in the growing confrontation between the North American government and drugs. Del Toro plays a consultant who accompanies them on a clandestine journey full of moments on the verge of death .

Although the film was very successful in several countries, including the United States , Mexico did not receive it in the same way. The mayor of Juárez , Enrique Serrano Escobar , was not very happy with the premiere, given that history - he assures - unearths part of the history of his city that can generate very negative propaganda for those who do not know that their current reality is very different. Such was the mayor's discontent that he led a campaign to ask citizens not to see the film.

The director's response was not exactly what Escobar expected, since he assured that the scriptwriter had based the story on an in-depth investigation , which had included work in the city itself in the company of a journalistic team and an FBI agent, in on which the character of the British Emily Blunt is based. The controversy continued when Velleneuve assured that, although the film is not based on real events, it is about something that could happen at any time, since Juárez is one of the most dangerous cities in the world.
