Resort

Hotel

A resort is a hotel with a wide variety of facilities and a wide range of leisure services.

Like many other concepts, resort is a frequently used term in our language although it is not recognized by the Royal Spanish Academy ( RAE ). It is an English word that refers to a tourist complex .

For example: "Next summer we are going to go to a resort in Punta Cana" , "Juana returned delighted with the Bariloche resort: it had a heated pool and sauna" , "A fire caused serious damage to the resort located next to Lake Pericles" .

What is a resort

Generally, a resort is a hotel that has leisure services and various facilities for the guest's rest and enjoyment. This means that, in addition to the rooms, dining room and other spaces that most hotel establishments usually have, a resort has additional services.

Many times resorts are designed so that tourists can spend their entire vacation in their facilities, without having to go out to eat or have fun. It is common for this type of resorts to be installed next to the sea and offer a private beach, swimming pool, bar and casino, to name a few options. Many resorts also have "all-inclusive" or "all inclusive" regimes: the guest pays a fixed rate that already includes all consumption made at the facilities.

Mountain

A ski center becomes a resort when it offers accommodation, gastronomy and entertainment in the mountains.

Spaces where they can not only take a bath, tan or simply rest but where they are also given the opportunity to practice different water sports.

Resorts in ski areas , whose main attraction is that they are part of winter sports stations, where clients can practice skiing, snowboarding…

Relaxation resorts . These, for their part, are tourist centers that are committed to offering guests ideal spaces so that they can release all their stress, relax and forget about everyday problems. Specifically, they usually have spas, spas, massage areas...

Family resorts , which are identified because they include a wide variety of facilities, workshops and activities so that all members of a family, older and younger, can have a great time.
