School regulations

Discipline

A school regulation sets the rules of coexistence in a school.

School regulations are a series of rules that establish different behavioral guidelines and rules of coexistence in a school. This is an internal regulation , which is valid for a specific educational center. This means that each school can have its own school regulations.

It should be noted that a regulation is known as the ordered set of precepts and regulations that are applicable in a certain context. Escolar , on the other hand, is what is related to the school (an educational establishment).

Public schools generally have the same regulations, approved by the Government in charge of the administration of the establishments. Private schools , on the other hand, tend to develop their regulations freely, as long as the internal rules do not conflict with higher-level regulations or laws.

Secondary school regulations

In the case of Secondary Education, we can establish that fundamentally the school regulations are made up of the rights and duties of the students. In the first case, establish some like these that we present below:

  • To be listened to and guided based on the set of educational or personal needs they may have.
  • To receive recognition for the academic dedication they carry out as well as for abiding by the existing discipline and their perseverance and good behavior .
  • To participate in extracurricular activities organized by your school in question.
  • To be respected and to be treated with respect, equally and fairly.
  • To know in a timely manner both the schedule and the school calendar, the exams, the institute's rules or the services to which you can access.

In the case of homework, these are some of the most important ones that are collected in Secondary schools:

  • To make appropriate and correct use of the center's facilities and resources.
  • To have good behavior inside and outside of the institute.
  • To remain in the center for the corresponding working hours.
  • To treat colleagues, teachers and other employees of the institute with respect .
  • To comply with all the instructions established by your teacher.
  • To adequately justify their non-attendance to class.
  • To actively participate in the activities organized by the center.
  • To attend classes punctually .

Its purpose

The school regulations allow discipline to be maintained in the establishment. Among the issues it establishes are student clothing , schedules to be respected, interaction models and possible sanctions for offenses.

In a school regulation, for example, it may be stated that students must wear a certain uniform, have short hair, and enter school before eight in the morning. It is also noted that teachers have the power to sanction students with warnings whenever they consider that they are not behaving appropriately. Upon reaching ten warnings in a school year, the student is expelled from school.
