A resource is a means of any kind that allows us to satisfy a need or achieve what is intended. Technology , for its part, refers to the theories and techniques that enable the practical use of scientific knowledge.
A technological resource , therefore, is a means that uses technology to fulfill its purpose . Technological resources can be tangible (such as a computer , printer, or other machine) or intangible (a system , a virtual application).
We must emphasize that intangible resources, also called transversal, are essential to carry out the development of existing systems. Hence, this category includes both the personnel in charge of undertaking the technical processes and the users who use the various computer systems, among others.
Today's technological resources
Nowadays, technological resources are an essential part of companies or homes. Technology has become a key ally for carrying out all types of tasks.
Among the applications that technological resources currently have, I would highlight the use they are given within the educational field. Hence there are centers that are called ICT, that is, Information and Communication Technology Centers.
There are many advantages that these technological resources offer within the teaching field. However, among all of them, what stands out is the fact that they provide dynamism when teaching the different subjects and also that they greatly facilitate student learning. Students have at their disposal a wide variety of texts, videos and audiovisual files that help them understand and assimilate the different subjects.
In the same way, they manage to learn in a much more attractive, fun and practical way. Which translates, therefore, into an unquestionable improvement in their academic results.
The only disadvantage that some people attribute to technological resources when applying and using them in schools, institutes and universities is that, sometimes, they present failures and errors that prevent classes from being developed in the usual way.
Use in business and at home
A company that has modern computers, high-speed Internet access, internal computer networks, smartphones and multifunction equipment will be able to compete successfully in the market, beyond the characteristics of its products or services.
Technological resources help develop the daily operations of the company, from production to marketing, through internal and external communications and any other facet.
At home, technological resources can be useful for those who have to complete academic tasks or for those who want to work in a virtual or remote office. Large investments are not required to have basic technological resources such as a computer with Internet access, for example. The greater the investment, the greater the possibility of acquiring state-of-the-art and better quality resources.
