Regroup

RegroupThe verb regroup is used to refer to the action of grouping again . It is a process that is carried out in something that was previously grouped (that is, that already formed a group ).

For example: “The president intends to regroup the government offices, which are currently distributed in various neighborhoods,” “According to specialists, the terrorists want to regroup in areas further away from the borders so that detecting their operations is more complicated,” “ Reuniting families that were disarmed by the war is a priority for us.”

Let's remember that a group is a set of elements . If a group dissolves and the members separate, they can later rejoin or link: that is, regroup .

Take the case of the members of a military unit carrying out a ground operation. The soldiers, within the framework of the campaign, are distributed over the terrain , each one taking a different direction. At a certain moment, the person in charge of the unit calls the members to meet at a common point. Thus these soldiers regroup.

The idea of regrouping can also refer to shaping a group with different characteristics from the initial ones . Suppose a person had his pants organized in a closet according to the season (summer pants, winter pants, etc.). One day he decides to modify that arrangement and chooses to regroup the clothes according to their color. As you can see, the grouping of pants changes its modality and acquires another style.

In Spain we talk about family reunification to give its name to a procedure that allows an entire family group to enter the country legally. For this process to begin, it is necessary that at least one of the family members is in Spain with a valid residence permit that has been renewed at least once, that is, they have remained there for at least one year. In principle, and unless complications arise, this condition is sufficient for successful completion.

RegroupHowever, when examining the rules more precisely, there are certain issues to consider. For example, it is necessary that the family members whom the person wishes to reunify are financially dependent on them, and that they can prove it legally. Furthermore, it is not possible to reunite the entire family, but only the spouse or de facto partner, their children and their own, as well as parents or in-laws. Among the exceptions we must mention grandchildren, who cannot be reunited even if they are small children.

The children who can be reunited are those who have not yet turned 18, although in the case of community family reunification this limit is extended to 21. To access this special case, proof of current university studies is required. ; If they have an employment contract, then they are excluded. Children over 21 years of age can only be reunited if they have a disability that can be legally proven and that the Spanish government considers worthy of financial support from their parents.

To prove the legitimacy of a child we must present his or her birth certificate . Another requirement to demonstrate that they depend financially on the applicant is that he or she has sent them money from Spain over the last few years. It should be noted that the Spanish government does not discriminate against homosexual people, which is why the reunification of a spouse or civil partner does not impose restrictions regarding the sex of the parties.

In the field of mathematics , finally, regrouping numbers implies presenting them in a different but equivalent way . This facilitates the subsequent development of the calculations.
