Spray

Spraying is the action of diffusing a liquid into tiny particles.

Pulverization is the process of pulverizing and the result of this process. The verb to pulverize, which comes from the Latin word pulverizāre , refers to diffusing a liquid substance into tiny particles or turning something into powder . Symbolically, to pulverize is to destroy something.

For example: "The button that allows the air freshener to be sprayed does not work" , "Thanks to the dough, spraying the rock took me just a few seconds" , "The project manager was in charge of spraying it, I thought it was an interesting idea" .

The term spray is often used to refer to an aerosol . Spraying, in this sense, is equivalent to spraying or atomizing. Deodorants , insecticides and oils that come in this format are therefore sprayed: one can press a button and the substance contained inside the container is expelled in small drops.

Agricultural spraying

The idea of agricultural spraying is used in reference to the activity carried out by airplanes and machines that spray fields. Fumigation, therefore, involves spreading some type of pesticide by spraying it on the ground.

Spraying in the agricultural field is carried out through different devices or machinery that help spread both water and pesticides, herbicides and even any other compound that is necessary for the benefit of crops.

These machines can be classified according to several criteria, mainly taking into account these two:

  • Depending on the type of product they expel, we find vaporizers , projected jet , nebulizers , atomizers or sprinklers , for example.
  • If we take into account the mode of operation of these, we come across hydraulic ones, backpack ones, self-propelled ones or drag ones.

Fumigation is based on the spraying of insecticides.

The selective system

In addition to all of the above, we cannot overlook the fact that there is a specific system within the agricultural field. We are referring to the selective spraying system , which is carried out on land that has weeds at that time. It is used to detect the chlorophyll that these have and through this procedure what is allowed is that the farmer can proceed to benefit from a series of advantages, such as reducing his expenses on herbicides and even preventing his crops from suffering from drift problems.

This gives the opportunity to keep weeds under control at all times, without having to spend a lot of money to do so. This task is thus undertaken in a much simpler way with a device that is based, among many other things, on the performance and tasks carried out by a series of sensors that are placed on the plants, at a height of just over a metre.

Other types of spraying

Sputtering , on the other hand, occurs when energetic ions are applied to a solid , causing the vaporization of those atoms that form part of the material in question. This process occurs through collisions between atoms and ions.

In a colloquial sense, pulverization can be associated with destruction or annihilation : "The objective of the game is to pulverize the enemies."
