The idea of property can refer to the direct power one has over an asset.
The etymological origin of the concept of property, which we are going to analyze in depth below, is found in the Latin term proprietas . A word that is formed from the union of three clearly delimited parts: the prefix pro – which is equivalent to “forward movement”, the adjective privus which means “of one” and the suffix – tas which indicates “quality”. .
Thus, after combining the aforementioned elements, it turned out that proprietas was used to refer to something that had the “quality of being for oneself.”
