About

Postscripts were common in messages sent by postal mail.

Its use

Postscripts were very useful in handwritten letters or when written on a typewriter . Due to the difficulty of modifying what was written, it was convenient to add or update information through a postscript.

With the spread of email , postscripts lost relevance: it is simple to make changes to the text or even send a new digital message. In any case, the custom of using postscripts was maintained when it was desired to include data that did not have a direct relationship with the main content of the communication.
