Platen

A plate is a piece of metal whose thickness is small and has the shape of a rectangle. The term is usually used to refer to metal sheets or plates that are used in the profiles sector (products used in civil works and construction structures).

PlatenPlates are usually sold in standardized sizes. This makes transportation and handling easier. Beyond this standardization, the plates are very varied since they can be manufactured with different materials and have various surface applications.

Within this type of plates we have to establish that there are several well-differentiated classes, such as the following:

-Galvanized steel plates.

-Aluminum plates.

-Stainless steel plates, which are the most used to place in areas where, due to different circumstances, there is humidity and there is a high level of probability that they could be victims of rust.

A plate, in this frame, can be given a special finish to provide protection against corrosion . Thus, a plate with a special treatment acquires additional characteristics.

The dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy ( RAE ), on the other hand, indicates that the notion of tape deck can be used to name the device that enables the recording and playback of cassettes (small plastic frames that house a magnetic tape).

The deck, therefore, is the part of audio equipment where it is possible to insert a magnetic tape to play and/or record sound . It is a compartment with the mechanism that allows the start, the controls and the magnetic heads.

With tape decks, in short, analog magnetic recording and reproduction of sound is possible. When a device combines the playback deck with a recording deck, it is known as a double deck device .

Double deck equipment (also called double cassette decks ) were used, decades ago, to duplicate cassettes, recording the contents of one onto another. This was one of the most common resources for acquiring music : a person who received a borrowed cassette could record it on another blank one and thus have their own copy.

In addition to everything indicated, we cannot ignore that, popularly, the term record deck can also be used to refer to the record player.

In the same way, we cannot forget the existence of a literary character who goes by the name of Pletina. We are referring to Princess Pletina Láser, who is the protagonist of the children's and youth saga “Pletina Láser. Sardine from space.”

Emmanuel Guibert and Joann Sfar are the authors of this series, which revolves around the adventures of the empress that gives it its title and Prince Fivernait.

Likewise, in the literary field we have to highlight that there are other works that have the term we are addressing in their titles. This would be the case, for example, of the book “Larga platetina del twelve”. It is written by Salvador Calvo Muñoz from Extremadura and won the Hunting Novel Award from the Spanish Hunting Federation in 1999.

In this work, what the author comes to do is a review of his experiences and experiences within the world of hunting over the years.
