Pita is a typical bread from the Arab world.

Pita is a term with different uses. They can be various plants , belonging to families such as bromeliaceae or agavoids . These are generally thorny plants that, thanks to the characteristics of their fibers, allow the production of a thread widely used in various industrial sectors.

The pita, which is native to Mexico , to name one of these plants, allows us to obtain various types of yarn, paper , drinks (such as tequila or pulque) and even make musical instruments .

Pita, on the other hand, is a type of bread typical of some Arab nations, whose main characteristic is being flat (with a small amount of crumb). Pita bread can be used to prepare sandwiches or as an accompaniment to meals .

This type of bread is typical of the East , although its use has increasingly spread along the Mediterranean coast. In addition to its flat appearance, it is identified because it has sesame seeds and because it is made with water, yeast, salt, oil and wheat flour.

As a general rule, it is used to prepare a simple and very exquisite dish composed of bread, cucumber, lamb meat, tomato and yogurt sauce.

In some regions of Spain , pita is the name given to the children's game that consists of chasing another person for some purpose. This game is also known, in other areas, as poisonous spot, chicote, the bring and plague, among other names.

The pitas, in another sense, are birds with colorful feathers that live in jungle areas. These birds eat invertebrate animals , such as different types of insects.

In the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy ( RAE ) pita is spoken of as a synonym for chicken. And not only that, but it is also said that pita is the interjection used by breeders of this type of bird to get them to come closer.

A few years ago, specifically at the beginning of the 21st century, a song titled “Del Pita Del” became fashionable around the world, which was used in an advertisement for a refreshing drink. It was performed by the singer Orleya and it was a composition with a marked Bollywood air that became one of the most listened to of the moment.
