Drilling

Drill

A drilling involves making a hole .

Perforation is the action and effect of piercing (hole something through it). The machine used for drilling is known as a drilling machine .

For example: "The company announced that the drilling of the ground will be carried out next week" , "The drilling of the leaves was a little messy" , "The engineer explained to me that a drilling of about five meters must be made before install the structure .

Different types of perforations

Perforation can have very different characteristics: it is evident that perforating a sheet of paper for binding is not the same as drilling a hole in the ground to then erect a building .

As an office accessory, the hole punch is a common tool that has a lever to press on a sharp cylinder, which is the element that pierces the sheets of paper or cardboard. Industrial drills have longer arms, although they work with the same logic.

The card punch , on the other hand, is a device that allows cards to be punched according to a predefined pattern. This pattern is used to enter information, as the punch cards are then sent to a verifier and stored in a file.

Oil industry

To access the oil, drilling is carried out on the surface.

An industrial action

At the industrial and construction level, it should be noted that there are also very specific drilling tasks. Thus, for example, they are used to undertake the drilling of a land with which the installation of various types of pipes or wiring can be carried out.

In the same way, we must not forget about the so-called oil drilling . Thanks to them, what is achieved is not only to find oil but also to extract it from the earth and then be able to use it in endless areas such as vehicle fuel.

In the 4th century BC. C. the first drilling of this type was already carried out. Specifically, they were made in China and from then until today they have remained the same since oil manages to generate a lot of money, so much so that it is commonly known as black gold.

Drilling in health

However, within the field of health it is also necessary to take into account that there is what is known as gastrointestinal perforation . This is a serious condition that manifests itself through the appearance of a hole in the esophagus, stomach or intestines.

Cancer, simple appendicitis, a gastroduodenal ulcer or colitis of a certain intensity are some of the causes that can lead someone to suffer from this aforementioned perforation, which manifests itself through fever, severe pain, vomiting, chills or nausea. The required treatment will be based on both the corresponding medication and the surgical intervention.

The piercing

The concept of piercing is also used to name the pierced or piercing , which is the opening made in some part of the human body to place an earring or other type of decoration.

Piercing used to reflect a cultural or religious value , although in recent times it has become a fashion followed by millions of teenagers and young people. Piercing, therefore, lost its symbolic or ritual dimension to become a simple aesthetic fact.
