A pattern can be something recurring or repeating.

Patron is a term that comes from the Latin word patrōnus and refers to the tutor or guardian . It is about a person who protects and defends another.

For religion , the patron is the saint who is "in charge" of the guardianship of a church and the defender who chooses a community (it can be either a saint such as Jesus Christ himself or the Virgin Mary ). For example: “The patron saint of carpenters is Saint Joseph” , “Saint Bernard is the patron saint of this small coastal community” , “I don't know what the patron saint of this town is, but I have already seen many churches” .

Patron as boss

Employer or employer is the individual who employs the workers . It is about the member of an employer 's association: the boss is the employer or the boss of a work: “Yesterday the boss challenged me because I was late for work,” “Jorge, my boss, is a very attentive man,” “I don't have an employer .” since I work for myself.”

In this sense, starting from this meaning of the term in question, we cannot ignore the existence of a Spanish saying that says the following: “where there is a skipper, no sailor commands.” What it means is that a subordinate cannot give orders as long as there is a boss.

A model or template

In the field of fashion, it is very common to use the concept pattern because it refers to the paper template that is copied onto a specific fabric with the clear objective of being able to create and sew any item of clothing. Thus, from this template, the seamstress or tailor will cut the pieces that make up the garment in question and will subsequently proceed to make it.

This meaning and said use gives rise to other words with which they share a root. Thus, we would have to talk about a pattern maker, which is what the professional who works designing, making and adapting patterns is called. This task, in turn, is also known by the name of pattern making.

In addition to the above, we cannot ignore the existence of an adverbial phrase that is used very frequently in colloquial settings. We are referring to “cut from the same cloth.” With it, what is expressed is that one person in question is very similar to another. A clear example could be: “Pablo is cut from the same cloth as his brother Manuel.”

Alcoholic beverage

Patrón is a Mexican brand of tequila.

Pattern as something recurring and as a Tequila brand

Another use of the concept refers to recurring events or things . These factors or elements are repeated with predictability and, therefore, can function as a model to produce a certain thing from them: “I like the color pattern of this painting,” “The machine creates the pattern and then the operators "They are in charge of making the corresponding installations."

In Mexico , Patrón is the brand name for a tequila sold in hand-blown bottles and offered in five versions: Reposado , Silver , Añejo , Gran Patrón Bordeos , and Gran Patrón Platinum .
