Hike

A walk is a route taken for leisure purposes.

Paseo is a term linked to stroll , a verb that refers to taking a tour for leisure and entertainment purposes. A walk, therefore, can be the route or circuit that is traveled.

For example: “Next week we are going for a walk in the mountains,” “I didn't call you yesterday because I went for a walk to the shopping center with my parents,” “Going to the plaza and then having an ice cream is my favorite walk.”

The notion of a promenade can also refer to the space that is traveled during a moment of recreation or an avenue : “The Paseo del Centenario is beautiful: they planted new flowers and renovated the lake,” “The authorities announced that a new promenade will be created next to the Museum of Natural Sciences” , “The police suspect that the criminals hid on the Paseo del Príncipe after committing the robbery” .

Tours in Spain

One of the best-known walks in the world is the Paseo del Prado , located in the Spanish city of Madrid . Its surface features several relevant museums , such as the Thyssen-Bornemisz and the Prado , as well as sculptures of great historical and cultural significance.

However, we must not forget that in Madrid the so-called Paseo de la Castellana is very famous. It crosses the city from north to south and was put into operation at the beginning of the 20th century. Among the most significant places in this area are the Plaza de Colón , the Museum of Natural Sciences , the Santiago Bernabéu and the Puerta de Europa towers.

In Granada, one of the most beautiful areas that tourists fall in love with is the so-called Paseo de los Tristes . It is considered a magical corner and one of the most beautiful in the world. It has more than 500 years of history and is a stretch of cobblestone ground that runs parallel to the Darro River. Plaza Nueva is where this walk begins, allowing you to enjoy spectacular views of the Alhambra . It receives its name from the fact that in the past this was the path that the hearses had to travel that were going to take the deceased to the cemetery located next to the aforementioned monumental construction.

Places in other parts of the world

In Mexico City , there is the Paseo de la Reforma , inaugurated in the 19th century . It has gazebos, numerous trees and palaces on its sides that make it a symbol of the Aztec nation.

Buenos Aires , for its part, has Paseo La Plaza . It is a space with five theater rooms, restaurants and commercial premises, whose main entrance is located on the famous Corrientes Avenue .

Walk in the bullfighting world

Within the bullfighting world, this word takes on special relevance. Thus, for example, there is the term Paseíllo . This concept is the name given to the parade that the bullfighters and their crews carry out through the ring before the bullfighting celebration begins.

Precisely in relation to that aforementioned word we also find the so-called walking cape . This is a short silk cape with sequins that the matadors use during that parade.
