Garden of Eden

In Catholicism, Paradise is linked to Heaven.

Paradise is the garden where God placed Adam and Eve , known as the Garden of Eden , as indicated in the Old Testament . The concept, which comes from the Latin paradīsus, is also used to name heaven (the place where the blessed eternally enjoy the presence of God).

For example: “Grandpa is in paradise with God” , “If you want to go to paradise, you have to behave well” , “My mother always says that good people go to paradise and bad people go to hell” .

The concept is used, therefore, to name the place where the soul goes of those who repented of their sins and who wish to spend eternity with God. The opposite of paradise is hell .

Paradise as a pleasant or ideal place

The term also allows us to name a very pleasant place or situations that are satisfactory and pleasant : “Cancun is paradise: its white sand beaches and warm sea are perfect to enjoy the holidays” , “For me, having a drink of cognac while listening to jazz is paradise” , “In the end, this town did not turn out to be the paradise we thought” .

A paradise can also be a utopia or an ideal place : “Walking down the street without being exposed to any type of danger is paradise,” “Jorge always says that paradise is a country without poverty or corruption.”

All over the world there are these aforementioned tax havens that are usually used by large fortunes as well as by politicians, singers or athletes with great international relevance who take advantage of the facilities offered to them in order to avoid paying taxes in their native countries. Therefore, what they do is reside in those.
