Eye

Vision

The eye is the organ that makes vision possible.

The eye is the organ that enables vision in animals and humans . The term comes from the Latin word ocŭlus and also has other meanings.

As an organ, the eye allows it to detect luminosity and convert its variations into a nervous impulse that is interpreted by the brain. Although its operation varies according to the species, the usual thing is that the eye is responsible for projecting the images it captures on the retina , a tissue that has cells that transform light into nerve impulses that, finally, reach the brain.

For example: "I think something got into my eye, because it stings" , "The striker hit the referee in the eye and was immediately sent off" , "I'm going to have to go to the eye doctor since my eyes are bothering me" .

The eye can suffer from various diseases . In some cases, they are alleviated or reversed through the use of glasses . In others, the disease requires surgery or the administration of drugs.
