Hopefully

Fingers crossed

I hope it is an expression of wish.

Hopefully it is a notion that comes from an Arabic expression, which can be translated as “if God wishes it.” It is an interjection that expresses a desire of the person who pronounces it.

If a person comments “I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow” , they will be hoping that the weather conditions of the next day do not include precipitation. It could even be considered that the subject in question is asking God for his wish to be fulfilled, although the everyday use of the interjection is simpler and more spontaneous. It could not be said that every time someone says “I hope,” they have a divinity in mind.

In a similar sense to the previous one, when a man says “I hope you find a job soon” , what he is doing is expressing his desire to find a job as soon as possible. If a fan of a football team says “I hope we win next Sunday” , he will have made public his desire for the team in question to win.

"I wish" in music

“Hopefully” , on the other hand, is the title of one of the most famous songs by Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez . His first appearance took place in 1978 , as part of the album “At the end of this journey” . Although the lyrics have been analyzed and interpreted in various ways, Rodríguez affirms that it is a love song.

Spanish singer Rosa López also used the term “Holy” as a title; in his case, from an album released in 2004 . This album is made up of Christmas songs and includes classics like “Silent Night” and “White Christmas” .

A total of fourteen compositions are what shape this album, which became the third released by the artist from Granada. In this way, after becoming known and winning the “Operación Triunfo” program, he managed to take another step, consolidating a career that has continued to this day.

Thus, after that album would come “I feel alive” , “Promesas” , “Propiedad de Nadie” and “Rosa López” . Successful works in the career of Rosa López who in 2015 represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest's Greatest Hits . It was a special edition of the Eurovision Song Contest that commemorated its 60th anniversary.

Willpower

The interjection hopefully allows you to express the desire for something to happen.

A restaurant, a fashion brand and a combination

Nor should we forget that ojala is the name of a restaurant in Madrid and also a fashion brand. Specifically, the latter belongs to the designer Paloma del Pozo , who has become one of the most admired in the sector in Spain .

In 2005 was when he gave shape to that brand that has been defined as a perfect mix between simplicity and extravagance. Not to mention that its coloring also stands out, drawing on the work of artists like Klimt and always resulting in elegant proposals that manage to exalt the female figure.

To all this we should add that the verb ojalar also exists. Specifically, in the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy of Language it is defined as the action of making buttonholes; that is, those slits that are made in garments to be able to fasten a button.
