One of the meanings refers to something that is taken as a reference to try to produce something similar . In this case, the model is an archetype . In this case we can establish that there are many types of models depending on the type of clothing they are specialized in. Thus, for example, we can talk about underwear or lingerie models, sportswear models or bikini models. And all this without forgetting that there are also the so-called supermodels.
These models are characterised by the fact that they are extremely famous worldwide, that they work mainly in haute couture and on the catwalk, that they model for the best designers of the moment, that they are followed by a multitude of people when they appear on the covers of the media and that they have astronomical salaries for each job they do.
