Mix

Dissolution

For chemistry, a mixture is a product formed by molecules of different types.

A mixture is a matter made up of various molecules . Matters made up of molecules that are all the same, however, are called chemically pure substances or chemical compounds .

Mixtures, therefore, are made up of several substances that do not maintain chemical interactions. The properties of the various components may even be different from each other. It is common for each of them to be isolated through some mechanical method.

Emergence of a mixture

It could be said, in short, that a mixture arises when different substances are incorporated without chemical interaction into a whole. If it is made up of pure substances that do not lose their natural properties upon integration, it is called a homogeneous mixture . These are solutions and are characterized by not displaying their components in a differentiated manner before the eyes of the observer, who only detects a single phase.

Heterogeneous mixtures , on the other hand, are compositions that lack uniformity, such as colloids or suspensions. An example of this type of mixture is a salad that combines several ingredients (such as lettuce, tomato and onion, or celery, carrot and egg).

Artist

Mariah Carey was a pioneer in creating the mix of R&B and hip hop.

Combination of different elements

It should be noted that the notion of mixture can refer to a change in order or organization or the result of combining things that are different.

«My son made a mix of all the company documents and messed everything up», «Our music is a mix of rock and jazz» y «The mix between his talent, his character and his experience has transformed him into a unique player in the world, capable of winning a match on his own» son ejemplos de este uso de la noción.

Mixing or fusion of genres in art

Innovation is not always synonymous with unprecedented creation; In many cases, knowing how to combine certain artistic genres, whether musical, entertainment or cinematographic, impacts the public in a much deeper and lasting way than a revolutionary product whose essence is difficult to appreciate.

One of the most successful experiments of this type was the series of recitals Pavarotti and friends , which featured the renowned Italian tenor in the company of various popular musicians from all over the world. The main objective of these unique stage encounters was not the fusion of styles and sounds , but rather the raising of funds for people in need, from countries in critical situations. However, many of the performances in which Luciano joined other singers resulted in very interesting arrangements that demonstrated to more than one that Opera and academic music could be as friendly and close as Rock or Pop.

Carey, a pioneer

Continuing in the musical field, 90 percent of solo singers of the last decade have specialized in a hybrid genre that combines R&B (Rhythm and Blues) with Hip Hop, resulting in a sound typical of songs from this generation. However, not many know that the first person to mix these styles was Mariah Carey, one of the most famous singer-songwriters in the world.

The brilliant vocalist caused a musical revolution with her CD " Butterfly ", where she broke away from her popular roots, which she had not embraced by her own decision, to give free rein to her creativity .

Mix in video games

In the field of video games, this phenomenon can be seen very clearly. From " The Legend of Zelda " to " Mass Effect ", the most successful titles often use elements from various genres and combine them in ways that result in much more than a mere accumulation of features.

The genius of some developers was based on taking what made a certain type of entertainment fun and exciting and merging it with another, enriching it and giving rise to new possibilities.
