The first thing we are going to do to know the meaning of the term light is to discover its etymological origin. In this case, we have to establish that it derives from the French word “léger”, which means “light weight” and that, in turn, comes from the Latin “levis”, which can be translated as “light”.

It is an adjective that can be used to describe something that has little weight or little thickness or density .
