Anything linked to industry is classified as industrial.

According to the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) , the adjective industrial refers to that which belongs to or is related to industry . The term can also be used to name the person who owns a factory or who makes a living from industrial activities.

Industry (from the Latin word industria ) is the name given to the set of operations carried out with the intention of obtaining, transforming or transporting natural products. Industrial companies are responsible for transforming raw materials into a type of product known as manufacturing .

On the other hand, industrial design is a discipline dedicated to the creation and development of these industrial products, which are susceptible to being manufactured on a large scale and in series.

The industrial revolution

The industrial revolution is the historical period that took place between the second half of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century , where great technological, economic, social and cultural transformations were experienced.

Since the Industrial Revolution, industry and manufacturing activities have replaced manual labor, as many production processes that were previously carried out by humans have been mechanized.

Safety and psychology in factories

In a company dedicated to industrial development, there are many factors that make up the work environment. These are social, technological, political and cultural changes that lead to certain actions becoming obsolete. The worker is another component of this system who is directly affected by these factors, motivating him or making his abilities stronger or making him helpless and incapable of carrying out his work.

Industrial safety is the multidisciplinary area that seeks to minimize risks in industry, usually related to accidents that can even have a major environmental impact and affect entire regions. On the other hand, industrial safety protects workers with appropriate clothing and medical controls.

On the other hand, we can mention that industrial psychology is the branch of psychology that analyzes human behavior in the field of industry and work.

Industrial psychology is responsible for studying the relationship between these various factors and analyzing the situation of employees , trying to find out if the company is meeting their needs and providing them with physical and emotional security during the period in which they are working for the company.

It is important to note that there is a strict relationship between psychology and industrial safety within a company, since good management in both aspects can lead to greater productivity (as demonstrated by various studies).

Programs and resources to optimize industrial work

In an industry, it is not only important to have a safety program that is adapted to the times and the activity being carried out, but also the means to carry it out; that is, that all employees are informed about what they should do in the event of a risk and that the safety system responds to the needs of such situations. For this reason, it is essential that there is absolute communication between those in charge of safety and administrative managers in order to propose a stability that responds to the reality in which the company finds itself.

It is worth mentioning that the use of certain methods developed by psychology , such as logotherapy , help considerably in production because they help employees feel at ease with themselves and, therefore, put their best spirit at the disposal of the company; for all this, psychology is also strictly linked to production and the concern and investment of companies in improving the quality of the spirit of their employees can be a fantastic strategy to boost their own development.
