Statistician

Statistical

An individual who is an expert in statistics is called a statistician.

A statistician is a statistician : an individual who specializes in statistics . Statistics, meanwhile, is the area of mathematics that works with groups of figures and is based on the calculation of probabilities to make inferences . Furthermore, statistics is the analysis of quantitative data linked to human activity, population, etc.

Statisticians, in short, are experts in these matters. They can obtain numerical data through surveys , research and other methodologies and then study it to generate useful conclusions and insights.

The first task of the statistician is the collection of data . These numbers are the raw material used to develop an analysis and thus reach a conclusion , linked to the behavior and properties of the digits.

Statistician as a variable

The notion of statistician, on the other hand, can be used with reference to the variable that allows the definition of a statistical distribution. The statistician is also a kind of mathematical function that, based on certain data, makes it possible to reach a real number as a conclusion according to the estimation of parameters.

It is necessary to briefly explain the meaning of statistical variable before continuing. This is a characteristic that sometimes fluctuates and varies with the possibility of adopting various values . The latter can be observed or measured, according to needs. For a variable to acquire a value, it must be related to others, that is, it must be included in a hypothesis or theory, at which point they are called hypothetical constructions or constructs .

The collection of data corresponding to the characteristics of all the values or individuals investigated is called a population . From this population a sample is obtained: a representative part that is selected for study.

Returning to the idea of the statistician, it is a descriptive measure that is inherent to the sample . The statistician is usually used to estimate the parameter, which is the descriptive measure inherent to the entire population. All of these concepts are used by statistics professionals when carrying out their work.

Variable

The variable that makes the definition of a statistical distribution possible is known as a statistician.

Parameter calculation

Expanding the concept of parameter in the framework of statistics, it is a number in which a large volume of data is summarized that can be derived from the observation of the variables, defined above. An arithmetic formula is usually used to calculate the parameter, which is obtained from the population data. Since the main objective of statistics is to develop a model of reality, the parameter arises inevitably.

We can recognize more than one type of statistician, some of which we will review below. We can start with central tendency , also known as position . It is the one that serves to describe the position in which a frequency distribution is found around a value of the variable being studied. It is normal for them to be located in the center, and hence one of their names ("central").

On the other hand, we have the variability or dispersion statistic, which occurs when there are different distributions but with equal values for several of the central tendency statistics. This type carries the risk of drawing erroneous conclusions if other statistical measurements are not applied, precisely because of the similarities, which can be misleading.

There is also the deformation or asymmetry statistician, which focuses on the study of the degree of symmetry that can be seen in the distributions. In turn, this type of statistician recognizes other subclassifications of its asymmetry coefficients: Person; depending on the quantiles.
