Traditionally, writing a work begins on paper

An individual who dedicates himself to writing is called a writer : that is, to express ideas through words that he represents through letters on paper or other support. Generally the name of writer is reserved for those who create written works , especially when said works belong to the field of literature (the artistic discipline focused on verbal expression).

Creation of written works

It is important to point out that knowing how to write does not imply becoming a writer. Writers' trade, occupation or profession is the development of texts ; Although, sometimes, a writer is also mentioned as someone who produces literary works for pleasure in his or her free time.

At a general level, it is understood that the writer has technical and theoretical skills and knowledge to create works with certain qualities . Writers are able to combine words, use punctuation marks and manage other resources in such a way that their texts are considered of quality for their aesthetics or for another reason.

Different areas

A writer can write fiction or nonfiction . Poets , novelists , short story writers , playwrights and essayists are writers, for example. The same is often said about screenwriters , chroniclers and journalists .

In other words, the work of the writer has a practically omnipresent scope, since we can see it in cinema, television and video games, for example, beyond books and other written works. Thanks to their work, our leisure or research time is more special, we can transport ourselves to other worlds , get to know our own in greater depth or even be inspired to create new ones.

The Nobel Prize in Literature is the most famous award given to a writer for his or her entire work .
